Below is proteus simulation video of Battery Model that uses the Prospice SPICE3F5 spice file. It illustrates how the Li-Ion rechargeable works with a LED as load connected to it. For charging +5V DC power supply is used.

This video demonstrates how a SPICE-based lithium-ion battery works. The battery is connected to a single pole, triple throw switch, allowing it to be linked to a 5-volt DC power source, connected to a load (in this case, an LED), or disconnected from both so it’s idle. When connected to the 5-volt supply, the battery charges. The SPICE model battery starts with an initial charge, which lets it power a load when the simulation begins. Charging continues until it reaches its maximum voltage of 4.2 volts; if it exceeds this, the battery stops functioning and the simulation must be restarted. Once fully charged, switching to the OFF position keeps the battery’s voltage intact. Connecting the charged battery to the LED causes the voltage to drop as the LED lights up. The LED stays on until its forward voltage of 2.2 volts is reached, begins to dim below 2.1 volts, and eventually turns off—though the battery continues discharging even after that point.

Note that the video shows simulation model simulated in proteus and that the spice simulation models (SPICE3F5, PSPICE) do not include battery animation and cannot animate like shown in the video. It is purely shown to demonstrates and validate the Li-Ion Battery spice model. Because SPICE-based models do not support Proteus visual animations, animation requires an MDF (Model Description Format) file instead. If you need fully animated battery models for your Proteus simulations, you can download them using the link below.

If you want to build your own simulation capable proteus models or library, then see the following tutorials.

You can also use the free SPICE Converter web application on this website. This tool can convert various SPICE formats, like PSPICE ,ngspice, LTspice and the SPICE3F5 spice model, into each other. If you’re using LTSpice, simply upload the PSPICE or SPICE3F5 model, and the converter will transform it into an LTSpice-compatible file.
