RAKwireless WisBlock is a modular hardware platform for building IoT sensor nodes. It is more industrial, modular alternative to building an IoT node from an Arduino board plus separate LoRa, RS485, sensor, and power circuits. It is built from several plug-in modules: WisBlock Base + Core + IO + Sensors
RAKwireless WisBlock RAK19007 is a WisBlock Base Board 2nd Gen that connects RAK4631 WisBlock Core, WisBlock RAK5802 RS485 ModBus IO, and WisBlock Modules as shown below.
So, one way of select the parts is as follows:
1. RAK19007(WisBlock Base Board)
2. RAK4631(WisBlock Core)
3. RAK5802(RS485 ModBus I/O module)
Various sensors like soil temperature, soil moisture, soil electrical conductivity(EC), soil pH, NPK sensor etc, can be connected to the RAK5802(RS485 ModBus I/O module). We can use sensors provided by RAKwireless WisBlock or we can use other brand sensors like:
- SenseCAP S2105 / RK520-02 (FDR) - Soil Temperature/Moisture/EC sensor
- Sensirion SHT35/45 + Radiation Shield RK400-01 - Air Temperature/Moisture sensor
- Dual-Reed Tipping Bucket Atlas Scientific Industrial pH + EZO Modbus - Soil pH sensor
- Sensirion SHT45 Industrial
The IoT sensor node is then connected to a LoRaWAN Gateway like Milesight UG65 gateway(AS923) which is illustrated before.
Because of the different frequency spectrum allocation for different countries user has to make sure the Mightsight gateway and the RAKwireless operates in the frequency band in the country where this IoT architecture solution is going to be implemented.
