Here I wanted to share information about how to place components on the bottom side of a PCB board in Proteus ARES. For those who does not know about Proteus, Proteus Ares is a great PCB design software and great for microcontroller and analog circuit simulation.
The picture above shows 3D view of incomplete Arduino nano board. The USB mini port is at the top of the PCB board and no components placed at the bottom.
Then click on the component (like FT232R IC here), you want to place on the bottom side (solder side) of the PCB board as shown below:
Then you can inspect using 3D view the placement of the component on the bottom side as shown below.
So, in this way you can place component on the bottom side of the PCB board in Proteus Ares PCB design software.
To illustrate how to place a component on the bottom side of the PCB and as an example, I will be showing with Arduino Nano board design. In Arduino Nano, the FT232R chip is placed at the bottom, while the USB port is at the top.

Now to place component like FT232R IC at the bottom, we have to change the view from component side to solder side. This option is available at the bottom left corner.
Then click on the component (like FT232R IC here), you want to place on the bottom side (solder side) of the PCB board as shown below:
So, in this way you can place component on the bottom side of the PCB board in Proteus Ares PCB design software.
