The 2N5179 is a popular low-noise NPN RF transistor ($f_T \approx 1.4\text{ GHz}$) used in VHF/UHF amplifiers, mixers, and RF modulators.
Proteus does not include the 2N5179 in its default library out-of-the-box, but you can create a fully functional, free 2N5179 component in Proteus by attaching a SPICE .LIB definition to a generic NPN transistor. If you want to make your own transistor simulation model for proteus, see the tutorial making Transistor part with spice simulation model in Proteus
Here is how you can download for free, extract, and load your custom 2N5179 Proteus model so the simulation runs smoothly.

1.Download and Extract the ZIP File:
Prerequisite.Download the ZIP archive containing both 2N5179.pdsprj and 2N5179.lib. Right-click the downloaded file and select Extract All... to unpack the files into a single folder on your PC.

Verification: Open the extracted folder and confirm both 2N5179.pdsprj and 2N5179.lib are present in the same location.
2.Open via Project Directory (Portable):Option A: Recommended Method.Double-click 2N5179.pdsprj to open the project directly inside Proteus. Because the .lib file lives in the same folder, Proteus automatically loads the SPICE parameters relative to the project.
Verification: Press F12 (or click the Play button at the bottom left) to start the simulation. The circuit should run without throwing a "Model 2N5179 not found" SPICE error.
3.Copy Library to Proteus Global Models:Option B: Permanent Installation. To use the 2N5179 transistor in any future Proteus schematic without keeping the .lib file next to every new project:
Copy 2N5179.lib.
Paste it into your local Proteus LIBRARY directory:
Default Path: C:\ProgramData\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY\
(Note: ProgramData is a hidden system folder—paste the path directly into your Windows File Explorer address bar).
Verification: Open a fresh Proteus schematic, place an NPN component, set its value to 2N5179, add the SPICE directive .INCLUDE "2N5179.lib", and run the simulation.
